Sometimes he made friends with the guests and he'd be invited to dinner or to a wiener roast on the beach. If he was in a good mood he'd bring flowers to me and the more favoured guests. His garden was in an open sunny spot near the barn. In the old days Muriel used to order seeds to be sent to him and the flowers were intended to grace Dollywood and Greystones.
